Dakine
Dakine: a brand dedicated to providing the best for adventurers
The story of the brand Dakine began in 1979 on the island of Maui in the Hawaiian archipelago, specifically in the town of Haiku. It was in this environment that Rob Kaplan, a surfing enthusiast, started developing his first leashes for his favourite sport. While surfing and board sports remained Dakine's primary markets for several years, with the brand's expansion onto the North American continent in 1986, other 'extreme' sports began to emerge in the brand's activities. Thus, very quickly, skiing, snowboarding, biking, and even skating began to fill Dakine's catalogue. In addition to sports equipment, streetwear also made its appearance among Dakine's products, along with suitcases, luggage, and other transport accessories. Then, the famous Dakine backpacks emerged, which are now recognised worldwide and appreciated by athletes as well as students for their design but especially their functionality. Drawing its name from the Hawaiian word 'DaKine', meaning 'the best', this descriptor perfectly applies to Dakine products, which are of high quality and aim to enable athletes to give their best during their practice.
