La Sportiva
La Sportiva: a story of mountaineering, passion, and innovation since 1928
Founded in 1928 by a cobbler in the city of Trento, Italy, La Sportiva quickly became a world leader in the production of climbing shoes and high-altitude footwear. Still 100% owned by the founding family, the brand is based at the foot of the Dolomites, close to its users. Present in the Outdoor footwear industry for over 90 years, La Sportiva's goal is to provide the best possible equipment to those in need. Originally manufacturing wooden clogs and leather shoes for lumberjacks and farmers, the brand now offers hiking boots, high-altitude shoes for Himalayan expeditions, climbing shoes, and trail running shoes. Recently, the company has made significant strides in the world of ski mountaineering by offering increasingly technical and lightweight footwear.
La Sportiva: designing high-quality outdoor footwear
Active in the outdoor footwear market, La Sportiva distributes shoes for hiking, mountaineering, approach, trail running, and climbing.
La Sportiva Hiking Shoes
Since 1970, La Sportiva has focused on the hiking shoe sector. With 50 years of experience in the field, it is only natural that the brand now offers high-quality shoes suitable for all trails. One of its flagship models, the Karakorum HC GTX, is an example of a La Sportiva hiking shoe capable of accompanying you on treks around the world. Featuring a high upper made from robust leather, it is equipped with a Gore-Tex lining that ensures exceptional waterproofing and breathability. The Vibram sole that equips this pair - and is found on most La Sportiva models - offers unmatched cushioning, grip, and comfort. With models available in both high and low tops, waterproof linings, or ultra-lightweight shoes, the extensive range of La Sportiva hiking shoes has a pair that will suit you!
La Sportiva Mountaineering Shoes
For more demanding expeditions, La Sportiva mountaineering shoes are here. These shoes, stiffer and more protective, meet higher performance requirements. Designed to equip mountaineers aiming for the highest peaks on the globe, these mountaineering shoes do not skimp on details. Equipped with cutting-edge technologies, they are mostly waterproof thanks to Gore-Tex membranes and feature Vibram soles. This is notably the case with the Nepal Extreme, which additionally provides extra insulation against the cold, to withstand the most extreme conditions. Durable and compatible with crampons, these shoes are simply made to take you to the roof of the world. Nothing less.
La Sportiva Trail Running Shoes
La Sportiva also designs shoes made for moving quickly in the mountains. Thus, the range of La Sportiva trail running shoes contains little gems with incredible performance, whose effectiveness in running is astonishing. We think particularly of the Ultra Raptor, which has a well-established reputation. With a very high grip, this shoe allows you to traverse any terrain. Equipped with the Impact Break System, which positions the lugs to enhance traction uphill and improve grip downhill, the Raptor is a powerful and fast trail running shoe. Of course, La Sportiva offers trail shoes for men and trail shoes for women. With different features (Gore-Tex lining, weight, grip, etc.), everyone can find the shoe suited to their practice, distance, and playing field!
La Sportiva Approach Shoes
When you already have your head in the stars, eyes scanning the wall you are about to climb, it is crucial to keep your feet firmly on the ground. The La Sportiva approach shoes allow you to safely access the base of the faces. These often combine the characteristics of trail shoes and climbing shoes. With excellent grip on technical terrain, they also offer outstanding traction performance uphill. Most importantly, they are particularly abrasion-resistant, allowing you to navigate among rocks without risking damage. La Sportiva approach shoes, sometimes equipped with Gore-Tex membranes, are ultra-precise. The model TX4 GTX, for example, features a sole made of Vibram MegaGrip that allows it to excel in via ferrata or on less technical climbing.
La Sportiva Climbing Shoes
When it comes to climbing hard, La Sportiva climbing shoes are here. A major reference in the field of climbing shoes, those from the Italian brand equip most of the world's top athletes. Designed for crag and multi-pitch climbing as well as bouldering or slab climbing, La Sportiva shoes possess all the expertise necessary to deliver very high-quality footwear. One of the brand's flagship models, the Skwama shoe, is designed for performance and climbers who do not compromise. Equipped with the brand's best technologies, they provide maximum grip on all types of rock faces. With a wide range, La Sportiva produces both lace-up shoes and Velcro shoes or ballet flats. No matter your level, type of practice, or the shoe you are looking for, La Sportiva has it.
