Meindl: a near-century of expertise in shoe manufacturing
Since its establishment in Germany in 1928, the Meindl brand has specialised in the design and manufacture of shoes for outdoor activities. Over the years, the brand has built a reputation, particularly for the high quality of its Meindl shoes. Constantly seeking innovation, the brand aims to develop the hiking or mountaineering shoe that will make mountain activities easier. In 1981, Alfons Meindl and Thorger Hübner developed the first shoe equipped with a Gore-Tex® membrane: the Meindl Trailer. Although the shoe had room for improvement, the Gore-Tex® technology held great potential. The shoe is lightweight, breathable, and above all, waterproof. This marked the beginning of a partnership that has lasted over 40 years between Meindl and Gore-Tex®. Among the many other innovations from Meindl is the Meindl Air-Active® technology, which allows moisture to escape from the shoe, keeping your feet dry even during intense efforts. Another advancement from the brand is the MFS system: a combination of foam specially developed in the shoe's upper area that deforms with body temperature, taking the exact shape of the foot. This minimises pressure points, blisters, and increases the shoe's comfort, even after many hours of walking.
