100%: To Give Your Best on the Trails
Originally from the world of motocross, this typically American company started with one man, little money, and big ideas. Over the years, the small garage business has transformed into a cult brand and expanded its product range with masks, sports glasses, and clothing for mountain bikers.
It all began in 1982 when Drew Lien, who wanted to venture into the MX business, was searching for a name for his future equipment brand. It was in front of a poster of Bob Hannah, hanging on the wall of his room, that the idea for a name came to him. Indeed, Hannah was wearing the number 100 that year. A question then came to his mind in front of his idol's photo: "What does it take to win?" You simply have to give 100% of your abilities, just like Bob Hannah. The company's name is a tribute to the founder's road companions, who have always ridden and lived to the fullest on their path to racing success - at 100%, in essence!
