Developed by Mountain Equipment to adapt to changing paces in the mountains, the Switch Alpine Jacket is a hybrid jacket for women that combines warmth, breathability, and quick-drying capabilities. It can be worn as an outer layer when conditions are favorable, and as an insulating mid-layer under a hardshell when the weather deteriorates. This versatility is particularly useful during strenuous ascents, belaying phases, or long days where the intensity of effort regularly changes.

At the heart of its design, the soft Octayarn lining promotes moisture wicking and dries quickly while maintaining good insulating properties during more static phases. A double layer of Octayarn on the shoulders and upper arms enhances warmth in the most exposed areas. The whole is combined with a lightweight 20D nylon ripstop outer fabric, windproof and slightly stretchy, which moves with you without compromising breathability.

Designed for alpine climbing, mountaineering, and ski touring, the Switch Alpine features an Alpine Fit close to the body with pre-shaped sleeves to maintain good freedom of movement. Its adjustable Mountain hood, helmet-compatible, completes the protection, while two chest pockets and two zipped side pockets keep essential gear accessible. The jacket can also be packed into one of its side pockets for easy transport.

Octayarn: it is a hollow fiber with a cross-section resembling a gear wheel. This soft material can absorb moisture extremely quickly and also dries very quickly. The fibers store a lot of heat, thus ensuring optimal insulation.
