Petzl, bags born from the field

As soon as he discovers caving at a young age, Fernand Petzl sets out to improve the equipment he uses. Quickly, in the workshop of his family home in Grenoble, he invents, creates, and develops tools that will help him better explore the depths. In 1970, he launched the company Petzl and, with the help of his sons, diversified his range. Today, the catalogue of this family business includes a wide array of equipment dedicated to safety, verticality, and lighting, including Petzl ropes, Petzl harnesses, Petzl helmets, and to store it all, the Petzl Packs & Backpacks. These come in various forms, including backpacks, Petzl rope bags, and Petzl chalk bags, designed for climbing, whether indoors, on cliffs, or on multi-pitch routes. Among the Petzl Packs & Backpacks, various chalk bags exist in all shapes and sizes for all types of practice. For instance, the Bandi chalk bag is round to fit your entire hand, while the Saka chalk bag is ergonomic for easier access to the chalk. Both are made from a soft material and feature a closure system that allows them to be opened with one hand, even during a climb. Some don’t need to be attached to your men's climbing trousers or your women's climbing trousers.
