Running Sunglasses
Running Sunglasses, the protection you shouldn't forget
Treading the legendary paths of the GR20 in trail is a dream for many, but it's not within everyone's reach. A quality trail running kit is necessary to face the elements and overcome the unforgiving weather conditions of Corsica. As beautiful as it is, it will not forgive any mistakes! And if you're brave enough to venture out during the summer season, you will surely come to curse that relentless sun that attacks your neck and makes it hard to see. You know that excessive or prolonged exposure to the sun can quickly damage your eyes. Therefore, it is important and even fundamental to protect them well with a suitable pair of running sunglasses. Whether you are running on asphalt, sand, or near a body of water, your eyes are not only subjected to the direct UV rays of the sun but also to the UV rays reflected off surfaces. However, outdoor activities involve movements, sometimes continuous. Sunglasses serve an essential protective function but must also be comfortable. Wearing them shouldn't be a torment; you may wear them for long periods, so comfort is as important as protection when it comes to sunglasses. You understand, a pair of trail sunglasses is not an accessory for trail running to be chosen lightly, and you must consider many criteria to find the pair that suits you.
Choosing the right trail sunglasses
During a demanding trail, on the most technical paths, you make wide and repeated movements. A good pair of running sunglasses must therefore ensure a perfect fit, grip, and stability; otherwise, they won't be of much use, and you'll spend more time adjusting them than actually running. Moreover, the light you are exposed to will never be the same. It will depend on the path you take, the time of day you run, or the surface you are on. A pair of polarised sunglasses like those offered by the brand Julbo is perfectly suited to these variations in brightness. They are equipped with lenses that adapt to the amount of light. Whether you opt for Zebra, Spectron, Octopus, or Chameleon lenses, Julbo sunglasses will provide effective protection, no matter the place or time. The frames are also adaptable and fit all face shapes and sizes, which is very much appreciated.
